Giving it away
Why give any of your money away? We do this to help other people who haven't got as much as we have.

You have heard of Comic Relief or Sport Relief and you have probably been in a sponsored event. These are all times when we give some of our money to help others.

Giving money is a good way of sharing what you have with others. You can do this in lots of ways:

• Sponsor someone for an event
• Do a sponsored event yourself
• Give to a charity - you sometimes see people collecting in the street - always check what they are collecting for
• Give to a church
• At Christmas time some people go carol singing and ask for money. Always check who they are collecting for.

You don't just have to give your money. You may be able to give your time by helping others without asking to be paid - this is called volunteering and should only be done with an adult. Ask your parents.

Is there a job you can do for someone? Again check with a parent.
